CALANGUTE: Contrary to the assertion of the Calangute Police that there are no goons or gangs, which have kept French actor Marianne Chicherio confined like an hostage in her own home, the actor has sent a desperate letter to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to rescue her. Alarmingly she wrote: “We are in front of a dangerous gang and everybody seems to be afraid of them, but I know you can find the right people to help me.”
She has asked the CM to direct the Director General of Police to take action and save her. “Only you can give an order to the DGP of Goa to assure my safety, at least till the court case which is tomorrow. My situation has become dramatic please it is not a joke.”
She also reminded the CM, who she is. “I am a French citizen Marianne Chicherio but known as an actress under the name Marianne Borgo. I had the pleasure to meet at several occasions at your wonderful IFFI festival,” she said.
The letter comes in the wake of she clearly expressing that threats to her personal safety are only increasing with the police not lifting a finger. She told Herald that she couldn’t sleep at night as she said that she was surrounded with more muscle men outside her home as she was forced to remain indoors. She even called the police at around 2 in the morning asking for help. No help arrived, according to her.
While Marianne has continued to keep three security guards (2 men & 1 woman) for her safety, she said the number of people/security men/bouncers is increasing from the other side. The person named in Marianne’s police complaint Nirmala Acharya e Souza did not offer any comments on Sunday even as Herald reached out to get her take on the events that have unfolded.
On Sunday evening Marianne told Herald, “For how long will I have to live in this state and no one is allowed to come to see and meet me. I am forced to stay in the dark without light or any access.”
